We are committed to protecting your privacy and to being plain about how we handle your information. This policy explains what TerraLoc collects, why, and what you can do about it, on the website and in the mobile app. It does not apply to services or websites we do not own or control.

We collect the minimum needed to provide the features you use: recording activities, correcting altitude, planning routes, and optional live tracking. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
By using TerraLoc, you agree to this Privacy Policy. Please read the following sections to understand how your information is managed and protected.
You can explore most public content without revealing your identity. When you browse, our servers automatically collect limited technical information such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, access time, and pages viewed. This is used only for security, diagnostics, and server performance. It cannot identify you personally on its own.
When you create an account or contact us, we may collect your name, email address, country, and the profile details you choose to fill in. We use this to manage your account, provide support, improve features, and send you the messages you have asked for.
TerraLoc does not store or process payment information. Paid plans are handled by our payment provider; we record that a payment was made, for how much, in which currency, and whether it succeeded. Card numbers and account credentials never reach our servers.
An uploaded or recorded activity carries more than a line on a map, so it is worth being specific. We store:
You decide whether an activity is public or private, and you may change that or delete the activity at any time.
Live tracking is optional and off unless you start it. While a session is running, your position, altitude and speed are transmitted and stored so that the people you have shared the session with can follow it, and so that the recording survives a dropped connection. A session ends when you stop it or when it times out. Live positions are kept only as long as needed to show the session and to reconcile it with the finished activity.
If you connect an external tracker, we receive the positions that device sends and store them the same way.
If you join a club, enter an event, or appear in a league or segment leaderboard, the information needed for that is visible to the people it concerns: typically your name, your club, and the result or figure being ranked. Leaving a club or an event removes you from its listings going forward.
We use a small number of cookies for authentication, session management, and remembering preferences such as your choice of light or dark face. They are not used for advertising or for tracking you outside TerraLoc. Disabling cookies may limit features or require more frequent logins.
The TerraLoc app requests only the permissions it needs, and only when it needs them.
The app uses your device GPS to record activities, show navigation, and support live tracking if you enable it. Location may be stored on your device and, when you upload or use connected features, transmitted securely to your account. The app may continue to use location in the background during an active recording, because a recording with gaps in it is not a recording. You can withdraw the permission at any time in your device settings, which will limit what the app can do.
If you attach photographs to an activity, the app needs access to the camera or your photo library for that purpose only. It does not scan your library for anything else.
Map regions you download are stored on your device so they work without signal. Downloading a region tells us which region was requested; it does not tell us where you are.
The app does not collect unrelated personal information, does not read your contacts or unrelated files, and does not include third-party analytics that track you across applications.
TerraLoc data is stored on secure servers under our control. We apply modern encryption practices, restricted access, and continuous monitoring to prevent unauthorised access or misuse. Credentials for connected devices are stored encrypted, and API tokens are stored only as a hash, never in a form we could read back.
We do not sell, rent, or commercially share user data. Access is limited to authorised administrators for support and maintenance. We may disclose information only where required by law, or where necessary to protect the integrity of the service or the safety of our users.
You may request access, correction, export, or deletion of your personal data at any time, and you can export your own activities from your profile without asking us. We will respond promptly and in line with applicable regulations. If you delete your account, the data associated with it is removed unless retention is legally required.
TerraLoc may link to clubs, events, map providers or other outdoor resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their policies before providing any personal information.
We may update this policy as TerraLoc evolves or as legal requirements change. Updates are published on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the service after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
