Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) carefully. They govern your use of TerraLoc, its software, website, and any related services. By using this platform, you agree to comply with these Terms and all applicable laws. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of TerraLoc.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes become effective upon publication on this website. Continued use of TerraLoc after such updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

Acceptable use

TerraLoc is intended for lawful use by athletes, clubs and organisers. You agree not to use this platform for any activity that is illegal, abusive, or interferes with its normal operation. You expressly agree not to:

• Access or attempt to access areas of the system not intended for you.
• Use bots, scrapers, or any automated tools to collect data.
• Post or transmit harmful, false, defamatory, or illegal content.
• Upload or distribute files containing malicious code or security exploits.
• Use the TerraLoc name, design, or content for commercial purposes without written permission.

Intellectual property

All TerraLoc software, design elements, and content are protected by international copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reproduce any part of TerraLoc without prior written consent. You may, however, use the platform for personal and club route planning, event management, and other non-commercial outdoor activities.

Your content

When you upload tracks, routes, photographs or related content, you retain ownership of your data. By submitting this content, you grant TerraLoc a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, process, and display it as necessary for the operation of the platform. You confirm that your submissions do not violate any third-party rights, laws, or regulations.

TerraLoc does not monitor user content proactively but reserves the right to remove or restrict any content that violates these Terms, applicable laws, or community standards.

Accounts and access

Registered users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials. You may not share, sell, or transfer your account to another person or entity. Unauthorised access or misuse of another account is strictly prohibited and may lead to immediate suspension or termination.

Paid plans

Some features are offered under a paid plan. Prices, currency and term are shown before you commit, and a plan runs for the term stated at purchase. Payments are handled by our payment provider; TerraLoc records that a payment was made, for how much, and whether it succeeded, and never stores your card or account details.

Live tracking

Live tracking is optional and off unless you start it. While a session is running, the position, altitude and speed you transmit are visible to whoever you have shared that session with, and to anyone holding the link if you make it public. You can stop a session at any time. Live positions are a convenience and not a safety service: do not rely on TerraLoc, or on anyone watching it, as your means of getting help.

Recorded data and accuracy

TerraLoc corrects recorded altitude against a terrain model, derives distance, ascent and speed from your track, and estimates figures your device did not record. These are computed values. We work to make them accurate and consistent, but they are not survey measurements and must not be treated as such.

Events, clubs and standings

TerraLoc provides tools for organising events, managing clubs and keeping league standings and segment leaderboards. It is your responsibility as an organiser or participant to verify that results comply with the applicable rules. TerraLoc assumes no liability for race results, standings, or discrepancies in timing or scoring.

Data protection and privacy

All data processed through TerraLoc is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not sell or share your data with third parties.

External links

TerraLoc may contain links to clubs, event organisers, map and data providers, or other external resources. These are provided for convenience only. We do not control or endorse the content or policies of external sites and are not responsible for any damages or losses arising from their use.

Liability disclaimer

TerraLoc is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. While we strive for accuracy and uptime, we do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for any specific purpose. You use the platform at your own risk.

Nothing on TerraLoc is a substitute for your own judgement outdoors. Route planning, maps, weather information and elevation data are aids, not guarantees, and the decision to set out, continue or turn back is always yours.

Under no circumstances shall TerraLoc, its owners, or contributors be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to data loss, inaccurate measurements, or operational delays.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to TerraLoc at our discretion if a user violates these Terms, engages in abusive behaviour, or poses a risk to platform stability or security. Users may request account deletion at any time through the contact form.

Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland. Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of Zurich, Switzerland. By using TerraLoc, you consent to this jurisdiction and venue.
